5/17/2023 0 Comments Adsr sample manager manual![]() Maybe we're waiting for a brilliant outside-the-box discovery that would simplify all that. Do you want to find all sounds made by a talking-drum, or are you looking for sounds that resemble "Wheee-appp-dum"? Or those that sound a lot like "I'll be back"? A useful system would search from many different criteria and would automatically tag loops and samples from all these directions. But extending the concept is a big undertaking that nobody has really tackled. The supplied Apple loops derive much of their utility from having been pegged into a scheme with labels and a database to search them. I don't have much hope for a solution until someone develops a way to group sounds that everybody will more or less subscribe too. I have the apple loops utility but I just wanted to check how others do it before I really get stuck into something only to find there's a better way I could have taken from the start.ĭo people use other software to manage their loops? Are there more intuitive ways to add samples to Apple loops? Any other tips? but even this doesn't quite break down the sheer amount there is. drum loops, drum one-shots, bass loops etc. I did begin attempting to create a folder that separated them into categories e.g. I get a bunch of new samples each month with Computer Magazine too. I would ideally love to have them all accessible via the Logic loops library under the 'My Loops' tab but it seems that going through and adding each individual sample and tagging its properties would be quite a tedious task and unfortunately sat in their folder they don't get searched through so often. * Fixed (1.0.4): replacing files in a collection could fail when moving between folders.I, as I presume most digital music creators do, have a rather large folder of samples I've collected over the years and I wanted to ask how others manage their sample collections? * Fixed (1.0.4): similarity search from a collection could fail when source file was missing. * Fixed (1.0.4): don’t create a copy when importing a collection which is already in the Collections folder. * Fixed (1.0.4): similarity search could fail when having indexed files with 1.0.3 on an ‘old’ database. dll file issue that affected some Windows 10 installations. * Fixed: sometimes, the explore tab could show content from the home folder instead of the selected location. * Fixed: similarity search from a collection could fail when the file originated from an unmounted library. * Fixed: similarity search from the waveform player didn’t work with files from a collection. * Fixed: export behavior for collections should never schedule more than one export. ![]() * Fixed: drag-and-drop behaviour when dragging file out of the application and immediately back in. * Fixed: possible crash while exploring folders with special characters (all platforms). Random Preview: avoid listening to the same few samples over and over.Ī new release of Sononym is available, containing bugfixes and improvements: Integrated bookmarking and export: don't lose the flow while browsing. Live recording: quickly find samples based on any input you provide. Similarity Search: a powerful way to discover variations of any sound. Self-organizing content: Automatically groups samples into relevant categories, such as loops and oneshots, kicks or snares. Works with your own files: recordings, soundware collections, any source.Ĭross-platform: Sononym is available for Windows, Linux and OS X.ĭeep audio analysis: extracts pitch, tempo, brightness etc. ![]() In addition to this, the software offers many other features that you would expect from a sample browser, such as fully searchable and sortable file/results views and a modern, streamlined user interface. Using this approach, it's even possible to connect a synth, guitar or microphone to locate samples by recording new sounds on-the-fly. ![]() The primary innovation in Sononym is called "Similarity Search", a special search mode which accepts any sound as the input, and finds relevant sounds throughout your sample collection. Sononym represents an innovative approach to sample browsing, using machine learning and audio feature extraction to make personal sample collections searchable and discoverable.
